The most iconic car Volkswagen Beetle has been launched in India on 4th December, 2009. Volkswagen India has launched New Beetle at a whooping price of Rs. 20.45 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi). The carmaker has carefully chosen the launch time of this world famous Beetle in the month of Christmas.

Beetle all over the world has been loved by car buyers and is popular as the people's car. This latest launch car in India is one of the most successful Volkswagen model worldwide. Volkswagen Beetle 2009 has a distinct design and peculiar styling. Inspired from the original Beetle, this new iteration of the Volkswagen Beetle that has made its way on the Indian roads now was launched in the year 1998. 

Engine

While the original Volkswagen Beetle 2009 car is a rear engine car, India's latest launched car – new Beetle is a front-engined wheel drive one. Powered by a 2000 cc 4-cylinder petrol, this people's car develops 115 hp working in conjunction with a 6-speed auto box.

Traveling across the world, Volkswagen Beetle has come to India and according to the company sources there has already been around 125 car bookings within two days of its launch. Volkswagen Beetle is being imported in India from Volkswagen's Mexican plant.
